I think it is fair to say that Watchmen greatly influenced my choice in careers. When I heard they were making Before Watchmen I planned to be disappointed. I was wrong, Before Watchmen is AWESOME. It is an epic totally engrossing tale of the reason things ended up the way they did in the graphic novel. The first Watchmen took place after the cool stuff. There are no epic battles and  no clear lines of right and wrong which are normally so prevalent in comics. The reason it was such a success was because you had to draw your own conclusions. These new comics push those preconceived notions.

They answer questions about your favorite character's history and at the same time shatter some of the fundamental views you have on other characters.  I think it is fair to say that everyone has a picture of something or someone that makes then Nostalgic, makes them believe in a better world or feel the emotion of a past memory. These comic books present open wounds of feelings and questions that might never be answered. Overall the new Watchmen is a great read and I give it 4 out of 5 stars. The only reason it is not a 5 out of 5 is because you just can't beat the original. While we are on the topic of past memories I've included some pictures that make me remember better times.

SEATTLE -- Phoenix Jones, the city's self-anointed superhero, jumped into action again early Sunday morning, helping detain a man accused of stabbing another man until Seattle Police arrived.

The incident occurred near Belltown, according to a police report. Witnesses said Ian B. Scarlett brandished a knife and assaulted a man near the intersection of Lenora St. and 3rd Ave. At that point, Jones and several others began following Scarlett as he walked away from the scene. When Scarlett hailed a cab at 7th Ave. and Blanchard St., Jones and the others prevented the cab from leaving.

Police arrived soon after and took Scarlett into custody. Scarlett denied attacking the victim, and police were unable to find the knife used in the attack, though witnesses reported seeing Scarlett throw it away as he was getting into the cab.

Scarlett was later booked into King County Jail. The victim, whose name was blacked out of the police report, was transported to Haborview Medical Center for treatment. The SPD report notes that the victim had a warrant outstanding for violation of the controlled substances act.

Photographer Ryan McNamee was one of the witnesses to the incident and posted the video below of some of what occurred as Jones and the others chased Scarlett:

Phoenix Jones, is a self-appointed watchguard, patrolling bar and club-heavy parts of town like Capitol Hill and Belltown to stop muggings and other crime.  He was arrested Oct. 9 after he was involved in a brawl outside a Seattle club. He said he was trying to break up an assault; some witnesses accused Jones of attacking them.

The end result of the Oct. 9 incident was that city prosecutors opted not to file charges against Jones.

(H/T to Publicola, which reported the incident first.)

Additional reporting by KING 5's Chris Daniels.

It has been a long time since I made a blog post.  I feel it is time to clear a few things up. On Friday morning, November 9th, 2012 I made a choice to engage in mutual combat with a man who was verbally abusive and threatening the SAFETY of my family. If you have not already seen the live footage, please watch this video:

I do not think that everyone should evoke this law (Seattle Municipal Code 12A.06.025). There are a ton of factors that come into play legally when you do this kind of thing. My entire team is trained and are very legally conscience of the law.

I also do not want people to think poorly of the Seattle Police Department. I have had my fair share of police encounters but the officers that responded to this call were professional and very clear that they did not approve, but that it was within my legal right to 'duel' with the antagonist.
